Amy Forton is a Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is a National Certified Counselor and she holds a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. Ms. Forton has been in private practice at Henderson Family Therapy, LLC for numerous years. She was employed for seven years as a Therapist at Bridge Counseling Associates in Las Vegas, Nevada. At Bridge she provided individual, couple, family and group therapy for clients who are attending treatment as a result of substance abuse. She also worked with clients who have sought therapy for other mental health concerns that present dually with substance abuse. She has served as an intern therapist at the Student Counseling and Psychological Services Center at University of Nevada Las Vegas and at the Center for Individual, Couple and Family Counseling at UNLV as well as the Community Counseling Clinic at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
Amy has also been employed as the Coordinator of the Cirque du Monde program for Cirque du Soleil in Orlando, Florida. At Cirque, she assisted in identifying partners and acting as a liaison between partner organizations and Cirque du Soleil. Amy planned, coordinated and implemented Cirque du Monde workshops for homeless adolescents and youth at risk in Orlando, FL. She also acted as a liaison between artists, social workers, youth at risk and organizational management.
